SUMMERSCHOOL 30 June – 6 July 2025 – CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Filter Café Filtré - Atelier and Tournevie kick off this year’s summerstreets with the 4th edition of the Openstreets Summerschool: Making Maritime Neighbourhood.
We invite (student) architects, designers, makers, and other interested professionals to join us in a one-week urban lab in the Maritime neighbourhood of Molenbeek. At Filter Café Filtré Atelier, we view the street as a critical space for urban transition. Our goal is to reinvent urban spaces through tactical urbanism and micro-interventions, acting as bridges between today’s streets and long-term urban ambitions.
This year, the focus is on building together one large micro-intervention on a vacant green space in the Maritime neighbourhood. A co-creation workshop with local children has already taken place, resulting in a collective masterplan. The Summerschool will bring this vision to life through hands-on making, experimentation and collaboration.
Over the course of a week, participants will take part in a makers’ workshop led by experienced architects and craftspeople. The programme includes interactions with local residents and initiatives, construction guidance by Tournevie, and insights from previous Summerschool editions.
🛠A fully equipped wood and metal workshop will be set up on site for participants.
💶 The participation fee is 100 euros.
💬 Financial difficulties should not prevent you from participating — contact us and we’ll find a solution together.
