More about our Chef instructor: Azfar is the Culinary Content Creator on nOm (@nomies.co). With a background in the culinary arts through years of culinary school & working in local & overseas restaurants, his research and content focus surrounds local & regional cuisine while documenting & compiling recipes for young homecooks.

What you'll be learning:

Learn how to select the best ingredients and replicate these hawker classics in a home kitchen:

• Oyster Omelette (Orh Luak / Orh Jian)
• Hokkien Mee (Pork-free version)
• Orh Nee (Yam Paste)

These exclusive techniques include (but are not limited to) preparing a rich prawn both from scratch, rendering chicken fat & skin as a halal substitute for pork lard & preparing a versatile sambal accompaniment from scratch.

*** Participants need not have prior cooking experience as the class will be beginner-friendly

***All ingredients for the class will be procured from halal sources

What to Expect:

• Hands‑on, interactive session: Your very own set of ingredients and counter to cook along as Azfar demonstrates each dish step-by-step.

• Take‑home recipe booklet: A keepsake with detailed instructions, so you can recreate the dishes at home.
• Delicious feast: At the end, enjoy a sumptuous tasting session featuring everything you’ve cooked.
