About the event

Men’s Htht: Love & Expectations
A panel talk and workshop on masculinity & dating. Come with an open mind & heart to learn and discuss :)

About this Event

Most men hit a wall in relationships because what we're taught about being successful men doesn't match what creates successful relationships.

Join us for an evidence-based, no-nonsense workshop/AMA that explores the disconnect between societal expectations and relationship reality. This isn't about lecturing or telling you how to be—it's about understanding the unspoken rules that actually govern connection and giving you practical tools to navigate them on your own terms.

What You'll Experience:

  • Understand why expectations we have often conflict with relationship success
  • Learn from how the bros identified their own internal narratives about being men in relationships
  • Engage in guided activities that help you level up your unique personal expectations
  • Connect with other men navigating similar challenges in a structured, confidential environment

This Event Is For You If:

  • You're successful in other areas of life but find relationships confusing or frustrating
  • You feel caught between being the man you were taught to be and the partner you want to be
  • You're looking for straightforward, evidence-based approaches without the fluff
  • You want to connect with others facing similar challenges in a space that respects your experience

What Makes This Different:

This isn't therapy or a lecture—it's a practical exploration backed by relational science and facilitated by men with lived experience. We focus on understanding patterns rather than fixing individuals, and we believe that with the right information, men can make their own informed choices about how to approach relationships.

Space is limited to 30 men to ensure quality interaction with the three guys from Bros Before Woes!

  • $35 for one (excluding fees)
  • $60 for two (bring your own bro)

Join our supportive community for an evening of authentic sharing and meaningful connections! 🤝

About HTHT:

HTHT provides safe spaces for our community to have heart-to-heart conversations about relationships. We create opportunities for individuals to learn evidence-based relational skills and receive guidance from experts or individuals with lived experience, empowering them to confidently navigate every stage and challenge of relationships.

About Bros Before Woes:

Bros Before Woes was formed to talk about the messages that men (and boys) are told, and how we can improve the messages we tell ourselves.

We hope to build up a tribe where it's ok for you to reach out before you crash out, and where it's ok to throw your frustration against a wall of bros who will help walk you through it.

FAQs:

Can I attend if I'm currently not in a relationship?
Absolutely! This event is designed for men across all relationship statuses - single, dating, or in committed relationships.

Will there be refreshments provided?
Dinner and drinks are not included, but feel free to eat your takeout at the event. The venue is located beside TIPO so feel free to dabao delicious pasta over!

Is it going to be cold there?
We recommend bringing a jacket as it might get cold for you at this venue!

Is there parking available nearby?
There are public lots available nearby, but we recommend public transport as the venue is a short walk from Maxwell, Outram, and Tanjong Pagar MRT station.

Can I arrive late or leave early?
While we understand schedules can be challenging, we recommend attending the full session. The event is designed as a cohesive experience, and early parts often lay groundwork for later activities. If you must arrive late or leave early, please let us know in advance.

Will what I share be kept private?
This event operates under the Chatham House Rule. The Chatham House Rule states: "When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed."

No preparation is required. Just come with an open mind and willingness to engage in the conversation.

Will I be required to share personal experiences?
All sharing is voluntary. While participation enhances the experience, you always maintain control over what personal information you choose to disclose.

Will there be photography at the event?
Yes, we capture photos during our events to share the experience with our community and for future event promotion. We understand that not everyone is comfortable being photographed, and we respect your privacy preferences.

Can I opt out of appearing in event photos?
Absolutely. During the registration/onboarding process, you'll have the option to indicate your photo preferences. You can select:

  1. Full consent (happy to be in photos)
