Come join us for a fun and enriching 12-week Art & Engineering program designed especially for homeschool students! This hands-on, interdisciplinary class nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through engaging weekly sessions. Students will be split into two age groups (Ages 3–5 and 6-10) to ensure age-appropriate instruction, activities, and peer interaction.
Classes will begin on September 4th and end on December 4th. There will be no class on 10/2 and 11/27.
Each weekly session includes:
🎨 Art Class – The first half of the day is all about creative fun! Kids will explore drawing, painting, sculpture, and more while learning about color theory and amazing artists from history. It’s a mix of hands-on art-making and inspiring stories that spark confidence and imagination. (11am–12:15pm)
🥪 Lunch Break – A social, in-session lunch (brought from home) gives students time to connect and recharge before diving into the next activity. (12:15pm–12:45pm)
🛠️ Engineering Class – In the second half, students will move into the world of engineering with hands-on building projects. Creating simple machines, circuits, structural design, and more, they’ll learn foundational STEAM concepts through fun, age-appropriate challenges and teamwork. (12:45pm–2:00pm)
❤️ Caregivers may drop off their children or stay on the premises.
⭐️ You can sign up for the full program—which includes art, engineering, and lunch—or choose just one class. Each class includes a lunch break.
About the Instructors:
Kirsten is a talented artist and dedicated mom of two who has been passionate about art and creativity for over 25 years. She holds a BFA in Design from RIT and studied architecture at RPI, where she developed a strong foundation in spatial thinking, structure, and form—skills that deeply inform her artistic practice today. Kirsten has explored a wide range of creative mediums, with a special focus on macrame, design, and hands-on crafts. Her love for teaching and inspiring young minds led her to work with Art-ventures for Kids, where she taught after-school art programs in public schools. Kirsten’s approach to art emphasizes imagination, experimentation, and self-expression, making her classes a fun and enriching experience for children of all ages.
Leah is a dedicated homeschool and work-from-home mother with a deep appreciation for the arts and a wealth of life experiences. She earned a BA in Fine Arts and a BS in Elementary Education from Keene State University. During her time in college, Leah focused on pottery and printmaking, which later inspired her to create large abstract paintings that incorporate printmaking techniques. She is drawn to vibrant colors and the natural evolution of the artistic process. Before transitioning to the music industry, Leah spent nearly a decade working in public schools. She was known for her ability to connect with students, keep them actively involved in learning, and encourage creative problem-solving.
