The Rhythms of West Africa (all ages)

Join us at the library for an unforgettable cultural celebration featuring the enchanting sounds of West African music with husband-and-wife duo Arouna and Zaza Diarra. Arouna, originally from Burkina Faso, brings the traditions of his homeland to life with the kamale n’goni – a 14-string harp-like instrument – and the kora, a 21-string instrument known for its rich, melodic tones. Together Arouna and Zaza will perform traditional folk songs in their native language of Bambara. Explore the world of music, storytelling, and culture through the universal language of song. This program is for all ages.
