Come along to Shipley Fields on Sunday 19th October to celebrate the apple harvest.
The main activity will be apple juice making using a traditional manual scratter and apple press. There will also be the opportunity to taste many different apple varieties and buy a potted fruit tree to take home.
There will be reusable cups available to use but please bring your own if you can. You are also welcome to bring an empty bottle to fill with juice to take home, and any homegrown apples or pears you would like to press if you have them.
This is a family friendly event and people of all ages and abilities are welcome. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times to ensure the safety and hygiene of the event.
DIRECTIONS: Shipley Fields Community Orchard is located on the field behind Otley Road, opposite Shipley C of E Primary school, and adjacent to the Red Beck Allotments. It can also be accessed from the south end of the field via Norwood Avenue. The orchard is a 12 minute walk from Shipley train station.
ACCESSIBILITY: The paths on either side of the field are wheelchair accessible. The apple pressing will be taking place in the orchard in the middle of the field, which is on a slight incline and can get muddy. There are 2 benches in the orchard. Please contact
