Homelessness Week 2025

Welcome to Homelessness Week 2025.
Multiple events are happening to draw the attention of the issue of homelessness in Greater Shepparton; two of these are:

“End Homelessness for Good – Contributing Factors of Homelessness forum” takes place on Thursday the 7th of August at 11am at La Trobe University. It targets the general public as well as students, to explain both local statistics around homelessness, but also how do people become homeless, and contributing factors that impact people when combined, bringing them closer to becoming unhoused. Invited to this forum will also be Community Services students from GOTAFE, La Trobe University students and other local school leaders as well as other attendees including local members of Parliament and Greater Shepparton City Councillors.

The “Walking Home” event will be held at the Victoria Lake, near sam, on Friday 8th of August, between 11am and 1.30pm with a free sausage sizzle. The event looks to increase awareness of homelessness as a prominent issue nationally, but also locally. The event will welcome youth services, homelessness services and politicians, as well as students from Shepparton secondary schools locally.
