Roll up, roll up! Come along to a fun, free interactive pop-up for all ages this summer at the Hillsborough Exchange shopping centre.
Artist Grace Jandrell has been making very special market stall items all summer with members of the community in Hillsborough and Malin Bridge. At the Hillsborough Corner Shop you'll find hundreds of handmade paper fish and flowers, papier mache vegetables, made-up tins and imaginary cereals, pastes, tubes, tubs and more! Everything has been created by local people.
To 'purchase' an item, your conversation is the currency! We want to know how you feel about where you live, what you might like to change, and how you might like be part of changing it. If you want something small, we might ask you to answer one or two questions. If you want something large, we might ask you three or four. Or you can just come for a look around and some fun photo opportunities!
The Hillsborough Corner Shop will be open 11am - 4pm on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd August, next to Home Bargains in the Hillsborough Exchange. It's totally free, and all ages are welcome - it's not just for kids!
This project is one of RivelinCo's Neighbourhood Artist commissions, to explore how people feel about where they live. All the information we gather this year will be used to co-design our future artistic programme in the neighbourhood, for and with the community. If you'd like to get involved come along, or fill in the digital survey here:
