About the location:
A truly urban trail race, taking in steep ascents, sweeping downhills, old cemeteries, river paths, and a little bit of road. You're never far from some great views of the city on this route, and it makes the tough climbs very worthwhile.
Where to meet:
Registration will be in the Shirecliffe Road Car Park, postcode S5 8XA, W3W
https://what3words.com/sweat.eagle.humans
How to get there:
The start is a 20 minute walk from Shalesmoor and Infirmary Road tram stops. Buses from the city centre include the 1a, 20, 75/76, and 88, up to Arnold Clarke on Burngreave Road, then a short walk along Shirecliffe Lane to Parkwood Springs.
Terrain/Route:
Lots of down, lots of up, then back down, and back up. Some stunning views of the city from the top. The surface is a little bit of everything, with some stoney slopes, compact trail, grass, mud, and a little bit of tarmac. It’s a tough but rewarding route.
