Join us for a truly special evening of song and storytelling in the beautiful surroundings of the Samuel Worth Chapel with Jennifer Reid and Seb Stone.
Performer, folklorist, and renowned “broadside balladress”, Jennifer Reid brings old traditions and new discoveries to life through powerful song and story. Drawing from her recent travels in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Jennifer will share songs gathered from local folk singers and close the evening with a welcoming singaround. Guests are invited to join in, bringing a song of their own – whether traditional, personal, or simply a favourite to sing aloud.
She is joined by Seb Stone, a traditional singer, whistle player and uilleann piper from the Peak District. Seb’s repertoire spans English and Irish traditions, performed with a rare combination of passion and skill. Winner of the Future of Folk Award at Bromyard Folk Festival, Seb has since performed at festivals across the UK and Ireland, shared the stage with Martin Carthy, sung with the Wilson Family, and released his debut album Young Tamlyn’s Away in 2024. He is also a founding member of the vocal harmony trio Culverake, whose debut album Unto The Sky is released in October 2025.
This promises to be an evening of rich tradition, shared voices, and community spirit — a chance to experience the Chapel’s glorious acoustics filled with music old and new. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or an enthusiastic listener, all are welcome.
