Entry for regular club nights is free, we pay our guests by way of a *CASH* collection. Whilst we understand that some simply haven't the means to make a contribution and absolutely DO NOT wish to exclude them, we expect those who can to make as generous a donation as they are able in recognition of our guest's work.
*PLEASE CHECK FOR UPDATES BEFORE SETTING OUT*
Life is full of unexpected ups and downs, illness, weather and other unexpected things can spoil the best made plans. We may sometimes have to change our guest at short notice, or even cancel an evening altogether. To avoid disappointment please re-visit the relevant night's event for updates *BEFORE* setting out.
*ENTROPY
Paul Chisnell and Richard Freeman have a frightening number of decades of involvement with music!! They've both been in rock and folk bands, acoustic duos and performed solo - Richard, seemingly, many more times than Paul. It was a chance meeting about a year ago at the Old Bank acoustic session in Matlock Bath which led to the formation of Entropy. Paul was in need of a guitarist and Richard was looking to spread his musical load. So the pair got together to try a few tunes and decided that they enjoyed each others company enough to unleash themselves on the world.
Paul has to be one of the finest singers that we have had the pleasure of seeing at Crookes and Richard is a fine guitarist. The pair's musical backgrounds are sufficiently diverse to produce an eclectic mix of songs, between Richard's encyclopaedic knowledge of Beatles material and love of the jazzy side of things, through Dylan, Roy Harper, Sting and even some Yes songs. They've also reworked some original songs from Paul's CD 'Songs For Future Memories' and are hoping to write and record some new material.
All in all, not too bad for a couple of old men!
Doors open 8:15, *PLEASE WAIT DOWNSTAIRS UNTIL CALLED*
Singers and musicians of all standards and styles are welcome to come along and do a short floor spot.
Free entry: Collection & raffle for guest.
