DRBA & Get Outdoors Kayak Safety Class

Join GetOutdoors and Dan River Basin Association for an evening of paddling at Hyco Lake to learn the basics of kayaking; practicing techniques and safety to minimize the chance of injury and have more FUN!
No experience is necessary. Beginner Friendly, approx. 2 hours in duration; 14 yrs and up, Co-ed.
Cost: free but if you sign up, please commit to be there otherwise it is taking a valuable spot that someone else would love to have! This safety class is funded by a grant that DRBA secured to empower and educate our Basin paddlers.
If you do not have a kayak, PFD, or paddle, we will provide this for you but you must sign up using GetOutdoors Kayaks (class + materials). If you have your own kayak, it is best to use it so you know how it will perform. Register as class only.
An appropriate kayak for this event is good-quality, sit inside or sit-on-top 10ft-14ft with proper floatation.
A minimum of four participants are required to run the event, with a max of 10 students.
