Dementia Teambuilding Summit

Organized by a dementia carepartner, CherylAnn Haley, this Dementia Teambuilding Summit will help families affected by dementia design a plan to navigate this journey. This event is specifically held on a Saturday in the hopes family members will be able to attend together. Haley is designing this event so families can learn what resources they will need caring for a loved one with dementia to create a plan early so they can focus on their loved one.

There will be three panel discussions explaining -

*the importance of having Power of Attorney in place for financial, legal and end of life situations

*downsizing a family home to move into a smaller place or senior living community

*explanations of the different levels of senior living and importance of understanding that when making decisions

*what is geriatric psychiatry and how it can help you avoid Medic*tion

*how to engage with your loved one and better communicate as dementia progresses

Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care skills will be demonstrated and explained for real life situations. Organizer CherylAnn Haley, Sandy's Daughter believes these skills have enabled her to create great moments with her Mom even 9 years into this journey.

A selection of vendors will have tables to showcase their services and how they can help you care for both your loved one and yourself. Many vendors participated have a dementia family experience of their own.
