You are warmly invited to join us for a special evening at Sedona United Methodist Church as we celebrate 1st Fridays in the Galleries! On Friday, December 5 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, explore a vibrant gathering of art, community, and inspiration at the El Dorado Studio and Gallery, located on the 3rd floor of Sedona UMC.
This month’s exhibit will feature the visionary work of Frederica Hall, whose multidisciplinary art draws on myth, the cosmos, and the healing arts, alongside the evocative paintings of renowned Cuban artist Rev. George Dorado Blanco, the contemporary styles of Mark Vranesh, Kari Valles, Trevan Segle and other guest artists. Enjoy light refreshments, live demonstrations, and the creative energy that fills our galleries every first Friday of the month.
We are honored to highlight a statement from featured artist Frederica Hall, reminding us of the importance of celebrating the divine feminine:
“Long ago, divine Goddesses walked in power. They were honored, keepers of mysteries, of wisdom and creation. But the ignorance of patriarchy arose in mankind and sought to dominate what it could not understand… Yet like roots beneath the soil—quiet, steady, carrying memory, feeding life unseen—the divine feminine remains, woven into the balance of the living world, calling to those who remember how to listen.”

OUR PROGRAMS encourage and promote art education and appreciation in the city of Sedona and surrounding communities, nurture the growth and development of the arts by serving the needs of artists of all types, and connect the art and the artists with the community and visitors of the Sedona area
Although recently created, the Sacred and Profane Art Academy is a repository of many years of experience in managing, educating, organizing, and conducting community-based events. Many of our facilitator instructors are retired educators and active artists. We offer both intergenerational and group workshops as well as individually guided instruction.
