We will be leading a hike on the Bluestem Prairie Open Space from 6 am to 8:30 am
This trail loop boasts beautiful views and well-maintained routes. The length is roughly 4.2 miles and is considered a moderate trail. On average, it takes about 1 hour and 18 minutes to complete and has roughly 101 feet of elevation gain.
**This hike requires prior registration AND that our 2025 waiver be completed. If you have not completed a NEW Blackpackers waiver, then please do so

We are Parking and meeting at: Palmer Park (Maizeland/Academy near the restrooms)
We are meeting at 5:50 am. Please plan to be on time, as we would ideally like to start the hike promptly at 6 am.
Weather: Sunny.
To prepare, we ask that you bring the following recommended items:
* Water Bottle: It is imperative that you stay hydrated!
* *The majority of this trail is in either non-shaded or less-shaded areas, so if you know you're prone to dehydration, we do recommend you bring more water than you think you'll need, as well as a hydration pack*
* Hiking Boots or Walking Shoes (Please make sure your footwear is comfortable for hiking 4.2 miles)
* Backpack or something to carry items you need:
* *If you are planning to bring items other than your water bottle, please make sure that you're carrying them in something comfortable to hike in.*
* Healthy Snacks
* Hat or head covering
* Sunscreen
* Bug Spray
The recommended clothing to wear for this hike would be :
* Lightweight layers - heavy layers contribute to dehydration
* Breathable and moisture-wicking fabrics and features like mesh panels and vents
* Long sleeves and loose-fitting pants protect your skin from the UV rays
* Clothes with light colors
* Sun protection on hats, pants, and shirts
