Shylah Ray Sunshine is a multi award-winning singer/songwriter, musician, mother, activist, DJ and professional Vocal Coach. Originally from Canada, Shylah stands proudly as a First Nations Algonquin woman, now living in Southern California. An independent artist, ranging in Neo-Soul, R&B, new age Jazz with a touch of Blues and Hip Hop, she is most well known for her remarkably soulful & powerful voice. Developed by Shylah Ray Sunshine (Singer/Songwriter & Professional Vocal Coach), this is a unique program and practice designed to help, encourage and inspire each other to embrace our challenges, heal our blockages, open our voices, and express ourselves fully.Soul Voice Singing workshops run typically from 2-4 hours, depending on the group size. Either sitting on the floor with cushions or in chairs, we would generally be in a circle, going around to make a brief introduction, including some background of Shylah and her life experience as a singer and performer.We begin the workshop with the origin of singing/basics, addressing our fears and insecurities, reflecting on the handout responses, use of proper breathing, expanding our range, and into the vocal warm ups and exercises. I could optionally choose an exercise and/or song for us all to learn and practice together.BENEFITSYou can expect to receive:

• Greater understanding of the true origin of the voice.
• More awareness on how to effectively use the breath for singing.
• Basic tools on how to sing in your own range and exploring the discomfort zones
• How to practice vocal warm ups and how often to practice.
