Join us for an evening of Nordic Magic and Storytelling co-hosted by Animist West County and Trolldom Society
Here in Sonoma County another fire season has roared its way to life, the wild potency of fire revealing with all its ferocity the imbalance in human relationship to ecology. In the face of the power of fire as an element moving across the land we might feel helpless, but turning toward ancestral memory we are called to both witness and action on behalf of life.
On October 10th, Animist West County and the Trolldom Society have the privilege to host Johannes Gårdbäck for a night of Nordic traditional methods in Fire and Weather magic. Johannes Gårdbäck is a Nordic tradition-keeper and author of Trolldom: Spells and Methods of the Norse Folk Magic Tradition.
The evenings magical work will be supported and complimented by Storytelling and Song around the Fire Circle.
This is an opportunity to steep directly in a living magic tradition, and the only time Johannes will be teaching in California in 2025. It is not to be missed.

~ 4:30- 6:00: Opening and Potluck gathering time
~ 6:30 - 7:45 pm: Norse Folkmagic for Stirring the Rain and Quelling the Fire with Johannes Gårdbäck, Erik Ohlsen and friends
~ 8 - 9:30 pm: storytelling and song with Chaise Levy and Chiara Symens-Bucher
To bring:
potluck dish, with ingredient label (local / homemade gaily encouraged!)
bowl / plate / mug / utensils / water
chair or ground cloth as needed (seating will be stumps or earth)
headlamp
layers
No dogs please! We will have to ask you to bring them home.
