During the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the dedication of the Rosales organ at St. James Cathedral, Seattle, we feature organ recitalists for our summer concert series and throughout the 2025-2026 concert season.
Kraig Scott has performed organ recitals throughout North America, Europe, Korea, and China, and recitals and masterclasses at institutions including the Eastman School, Rutgers University, Westminster Choir College, the Universities of Alberta and Washington, and for various chapters of the American Guild of Organists. He was the inaugural John D. Hamilton Visiting Professor at the University of Oregon. He has performed the annual All-Bach recital at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral (Seattle) and presented the 40th anniversary recital celebrating John Brombaugh's famous Opus 22 tracker organ at Christ Episcopal Church (Tacoma). His students have won numerous competitions and been featured at regional and national conventions of the American Guild of Organists and on the radio program From the Top.
Since 2009 he has conducted the choirs of Walla Walla University. Under his leadership the select choir, ICantori, has performed throughout North America. In 2022 the choir presented a three-concert series of Messe Pour Nostre-Dame by composer/organist David Briggs with the composer at the organ. These took place at Walla Walla University and two New York city landmarks – the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and St. Patrick's Cathedral.
A graduate of the Eastman School and the University of Oregon, he serves as director of choral activities and professor of organ at Walla Walla University, and director of music at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Walla Walla.
