The Memphis Radio Kings reminiscent of early-'80s R.E.M. and the Replacements, the Memphis Radio Kings borrow copiously from indie pop, rootsy rock, blues, gospel, and alt-country. They cleverly blend these sounds together into what can best be described as bluesy country-pop. In 2001, Memphis Radio Kings released their first CD, an eight-song self-titled EP. They released No Band in the Happy Place, their first full-length album, in 2002. Memphis Radio Kings have garnered a loyal following in the Seattle area.

Steve and the Grit City Ramblers formed in 2024 with guitarist Bart Hyde (No Cheese Please, Bark In The Dark), drummer Perry Morgan (Lazy Susan, The Souvenirs) and pedal steel guitarist Mark Wuesthoff (The Twang Junkies, Sweet Thang and The Stumblers) and multi instrumentalist Garth Reeves (Goodness, Blue Spark, Cooper Point Road).
