Middle and high school students—get ready for an unforgettable day of science, exploration, and inspiration on the beautiful University of Washington campus in Seattle! Hosted by the NSF Center for Integration of Modern Optoelectronic Materials on Demand (IMOD), this special event invites you to step into the world of cutting-edge research and experience university science up close.
Led by IMOD scientists and students, the day features hands-on activities that bring the science of light and advanced materials to life. Learn about light-emitting devices, build your own solar cell, and create nature-centered sunprints while discovering how quantum dots are shaping the future—from ultra-clear VR displays to quantum communication technology. Tour the UW campus, talk with researchers, and perform some science experiments of your own! Parents are welcome to participate, and lunch will be provided.
