Berhana – Downtown Summer Sounds

Hip-hop artist Berhana takes center stage on Thursday, Aug. 21 for a free concert at Occidental Square with DJ Lace Cadence opening. Concert is part of the Downtown Summer Sounds series.

Singer-songwriter Berhana is intentional about not only his craft, but his identity. Now based in Los Angeles, he was born near Atlanta and raised in a community centered on his Ethiopian roots. His dreamy signature sound merges East African instrumentalisation and Ethio-jazz melodies with hip hop, R&B, jazz and funk elements. The result? A uniquely holistic sound that melds his experience being raised as a child of the African diaspora with the authenticity of his life today.

The Downtown Seattle Association is proud to present Downtown Summer Sounds, our summer concert series that has been bringing free live music to downtown Seattle for more than 45 years.
