Evening Sacred Songs & Stories
For those returning for the second event and wishing to go deeper, or who can only make it to one and Sunday's the night, tonight offers an enriched experience of kirtan and further insights from Srila Bhaktivedanta Vana Maharaja. Let your heart soften, your voice rise, and your connection to the divine enhance.
Step into an atmosphere of spiritual warmth and divine sound as we welcome Srila Bhaktivedanta Vana Maharaja, a revered Swami in the ancient Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition of India. This special gathering offers a rare opportunity to experience the essence of bhakti yoga, the timeless path of devotional love and connection with the Divine.
Bhakti yoga, practiced for thousands of years in the sacred lands of India, is a spiritual process centered on the heart. It teaches us how to awaken our innate love for the Divine through chanting sacred mantras, hearing wisdom-filled stories, and engaging in heartfelt service. In a world full of distraction and disconnection, bhakti offers a pathway inward—toward joy, purpose, and an unshakable sense of belonging.
During this evening program, you’ll be immersed in:
Srila Bhaktivedanta Vana Maharaja is from West Bengal, India and has been practicing and teaching bhakti yoga for over 50 years. A deeply respected teacher and sannyasi (renounced monk), he carries the mood and message of his guru, Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami Maharaja, and the lineage of pure devotion that flows from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. His words are filled with compassion, realization, and the power to uplift the soul, open the heart and connect to the divine.
For the last three years he has graced the Seattle area regularly, speaking at venues like Pike Place Market, the University of Washington, OmCulture, Pranify Yoga, the Heart Center and Blosm Studio. Join us the time at his very own new urban temple in the heart of Seattle in the U district, Bhakti Chakora Ashram.

In the path of bhakti yoga, the guru—a realized spiritual guide—is essential. Just as a traveler needs a map and a trustworthy guide to reach an unfamiliar destination, the sincere seeker on the path of love for the Divine requires the association of one who walks that path with deep realization. The guru is not simply a teacher of theory, but a living embodiment of the teachings—someone who knows the terrain of the heart and can lovingly guide us through the inner journey. In bhakti, the relationship with the guru becomes a sacred link to Kṛṣṇa, the Divine, allowing the disciple to experience an intimate, personal connection to Spirit that is full of sweetness, devotion, and grace. To sit in the presence of such a soul is to be reminded of what is most real: the eternal nature of love and our spiritual identity as beloved servants of the Divine.
No prior experience with kirtan or yoga is necessary—just bring your curiosity and an open heart.
