Over 10 million Congolese lives were lost during Belgium’s brutal colonial occupation. Yet the violence did not end there. Today, in Eastern Congo, people continue to face mass displacement, militia-led massacres, sexual violence, and exploitation tied to foreign interests in Congo’s natural resources.
This exhibition is not only about remembering the past—it is about exposing the ongoing humanitarian crisis and igniting action. Through visual storytelling, testimonies, and space for reflection, the Congolese Holocaust Memorial Exhibition seeks to:
