Kid Float

Join Us for the Kid Float – A Fun Day on the James River!

The Float Fishermen of Virginia and the James River & Southwood Boys & Girls Club are excited to bring back the Kid Float—a special day designed to give youth, who may not otherwise get the chance, an opportunity to paddle Virginia’s largest river!

We’ll be floating from Warren to Hatton on the beautiful James River in Scottsville, VA. This stretch is calm and beginner-friendly, with gentle ripples and plenty of room for fun and play.

We need volunteers!

We're also looking for a few safety kayakers to help keep the group safe on the water.

Let us know if you have your own boat and gear—or if you’ll need equipment. We’re also gratefully accepting offers of extra canoes, life jackets, and paddles.

Free lunch and t-shirts will be provided for all volunteers!

Please share this event and invite friends—our goal is to have at least 50 volunteers, with 40 paddling a child in their canoe.
