This training will address how to incorporate multicultural orientation with play therapy by examining the play therapist’s way of being with their clients. In this training, play therapists will also look at how they are influenced by their own and their clients’ worldviews, identities, histories, and values. Participants will walk away with practical ways to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the play therapy process and gain resources to enhance their DEI lens.
**Learning Objectives - After this workshop, play therapists and mental health professionals will be able to:
1. Describe the three (3) pillars of multicultural orientation and how they show up in the play therapy room.
2. Demonstrate how to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into the play therapy process.
3. List resources to enhance cultural competency in play therapy.
4. Discuss knowledge, skills, and methods needed to address cultural opportunities in the play therapy process.
