Good Ground is partnering up with Safe Families for Children (Metro East STL Chapter) to collect items to fill their resource closet with supplies for children that get placed with a host family. The items that they currently have a need for are:
* Girls underwear sizes 2T/3T, 4T/4, 6, 8, 10
* Boys underwear sizes 4, 6, 8, 10
* Goodnites bed wetting underwear for girls and boys size S/M
* Shampoo, conditioner and coconut oil spray for textured hair
* Kids body wash
Drop off your donated items from the list above at Good Ground Coffeehouse any time during our open hours (8 am-1 pm) on Saturday, August 23rd.
Further description of what Safe Families provides:
"Safe Families for Children seeks to bring the church and community together to keep children safe and families together. Safe Families for Children is rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goal is to support and strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and reduce the number of children unnecessarily entering the child welfare system.
Host Families voluntarily take in children for short periods of time. They are screened and approved by Safe Families for Children staff."
