NAMI of Union County will have Dr. Laura Bonomo open up our Fall Speakers Presentation series with a talk on strategies to help connect families and schools together to help every child succeed. The transition back to school can be challenging for some – especially for families with family members who may struggle with anxiety, school avoidance and other school related stressors.
After 25 years as a NY state school psychologist Dr. Bonomo created the Parents as Partners model and EDGE framework (Evaluate, Develop, Guide, Empower) to support parents in helping their children and to guide clinicians in effective treatment when needed.
Dr. Bonomo blends compassion with practical strategies to help children of all ages, and families overcome anxiety and build confidence. NAMI knows that when a child struggles in school, the whole family feels the stress. Our mission is to bring resources and support to all families in our Union County community. Our meetings are free and open to the public.
