🔥 Welcome to another night of music, flow and fire spinning! 🔥
THE LOGISTICS
We will begin practice and lessons around 7pm, then begin spinning with fire shortly before dark (around 8:45 pm). This is a great time to get to know people and practice some new skills! We also offer free lessons to anyone who wants to learn.
We will only have three or four “live” staffs for beginners to use. If you’d like to order your own staff for future events, talk to Courtney Chapman.
We operate with a Leave No Trace policy, which means we carry out whatever we bring in and tidy up anything we disturb. We literally want to leave no trace.
This is a donation-only event. We love fire spinning and we love the community of people that it brings together. Everything you need to spin fire will be provided for you. We ask for a suggested donation of $5 per person to help offset the cost of fuel, props, safety equipment, and other things.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE COMING
This event is open to all ages. However, for liability reasons, in order to spin fire, you must be 18 years of age or older.
You MUST wear proper clothing in order to spin fire. Synthetic fibers like rayon, Under Armor, or polyester can melt to your skin causing severe burns that require hospitalization and skin grafts. Proper clothing means tight-fitting, tightly woven natural fibers like cotton.
Jeans and a cotton t-shirt make a great outfit. Leather is another great option.
Clothing must be 95% natural or higher. You will not be allowed to spin if you are not wearing proper clothing. Just check the tag, so we don’t have to. Shirtless is fine. Tell your friends about this rule especially, so they aren't disappointed when they can't spin in their stretchy leggings.
Protect your locks. Put your long hair in a bun and wet it down or wear a hat. Burning your hair off is a less-than-pleasant experience, and it can happen in an instant, so listen to wisdom.
We will have a designated and clearly marked fuel depot and other “stations”. There will be a flow to how we dip staves in the fuel, begin the burns, and exit the burn area. There will also be designated Safeties who will have lanyards and fire suppression systems.
The layout and procedures have been specifically designed with safety in mind and are the result of many hours of preparation and consideration. We ask that you simply follow the processes in place and listen to instructions.
Anyone who is acting in an unsafe manner or “doing their own thing” will be asked to leave immediately for the safety of everyone else. If you see something that concerns you, bring it up to us (Courtney, Nicole, or Kassia) right away so we can deal with it. We love you and will listen to you 🙂
When you arrive, you’ll sign a waiver form. All this means is that you take full responsibility for yourself. You agree to follow the rules, and you agree not to hold anyone at the event responsible for you burning yourself. We dance with fire, and the risks you take at an event like this are yours and yours alone. We will also have people taking photos and recording videos of the action. If you choose to spin fire, you agree to potentially be in our videos or photos. If you don’t want to be in anything, we will try not to record you, but please tell us beforehand so we know.
This is a NO ALCOHOL/NO SUBSTANCE event. There are two reasons for this. It goes without saying - but we will say it anyways - that alcohol and drugs alter one's perception and judgment, and it is unsafe to spin fire under the influence. We also have a number of minors in our community, and we want to keep this a safe and fun event for all. Please do us a favor and tell the people you bring to the event. If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol in any way, you will not be allowed to spin fire. If you bring alcohol or other substances, we will ask you to put it back in your vehicle.
