Disney Summer Classics: The Parent Trap (1961)

Before Lindsay Lohan charmed a new generation, the ever-endearing Hayley Mills delivered the definitive double performance in "The Parent Trap," a warm, witty family classic that has lost none of its magic. Mills plays identical twins, Susan and Sharon, who were separated at birth and raised on opposites coasts only to meet at summer camp and then hatch a plan to bring their estranged parents back together. Directed with breezy sophistication and bolstered by a sparkling cast featuring Maureen O’Hara and Brian Keith, this Disney favorite is a delightful mix of wholesomeness and clever farce. Seamlessly executed split-screen effects and sharp dialogue help make it an enduring gem of family cinema that still gets us all saying, “Let’s get together—yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Tickets for the film are $5 for SCAD Card holders, students, seniors, and military; and $8 for the general public. Children ages 12 and under receive free admission.
