Family Plena Workshop

You can attend this workshop by yourself or with your entire family. It is intended for all ages. Learn the basics of Afro-Puerto Rican Plena with Cultura Plenera instructors. Plena is a Puerto Rican musical genre, which dates back more than 100 years, that narrates stories of the Puerto Rican experience through hand drums, güiro and singers. We will provide Plena hand-drums so all that is needed is your presence. This workshop is co-hosted by Savage Mill, Carroll Baldwin Hall, and Cultura Plenera. It will take place at New Weave Commons inside the beautiful and historic Savage Mill. Like and follow to get updated information.
