Do you enjoy writing and want to develop your storytelling skills?
Global Gathering Place and Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild are hosting Weaving Words, a free, small-group, in-person storytelling program for newcomers who meet on the following dates from 6:00-8:00 pm:
Tuesday, January 13,
Thursday, January 15,
Tuesday, January 20,
Thursday, January 22,
Tuesday, January 27,
Tuesday, February 3*
*Tuesday, February 3, will be a reading celebration of newly created writing from participants in the series.
The theme of the program is: If the City Could Speak. Every city has its stories. Some are loud, and some are very quiet. There are stories from the past, stories from today, and stories for tomorrow.
You’ll work together with the program facilitator and other participants to develop stories about life in the city, including your own story. It could be fictional or based on real events. It could be about a life-changing event, an important place, a favourite memory or even a feeling. It could be written in prose, a poem, or even as a scripted dialogue. Your story – your choice.
The goal is to combine the group’s diverse stories and voices to create one big narrative to share in a celebration event at the end of the program.
