Willow Weaving & Textile Forts
Led by derdie (Andie Palynchuk & Derek Sandbeck)
Free program for all youth ages 4 to 15
August 13, 10am to 2pm
In this collaborative workshop, kids will weave river willow branches and natural materials into a living fort wall or soft fence, adding color and texture with fabric scraps, yarn, and plants. It’s sculpture, play, and community-building all in one.
Led by derdie, a collaborative art duo from Treaty 6 Territory (Andie Palynchuk + Derek Sandbeck). Known for their playful, interactive installations, derdie creates spaces where kids can be bold, creative, and fully themselves.
Inspired by the programming model of Art City in Winnipeg, these workshops are free of charge and through partnerships with CHEP, the Saskatoon Public School Division, and some generous local restaurants the program will provide free and healthy meals to participants.
There is limited space, with a capacity of 20 participants but we are opening 10 spots up for registration, please email
