VERTIGO (Alternative Rock/Punkrock/Grunge, Berlin, Germany)
VERTIGO create a modern alternative sound that could be considered akin to bands like Nirvana and other grunge setups. But that is only a small part of the truth. They cite Joy Division, the Doors and the Wipers as some of their influences.
VERTIGO from Berlin are Tjim Visconti - guitar/vocals, Charlie Perris - drums and Ole Thomas – bass.
Visconti goes on a quest in the songs, asking the big questions and wandering, even dancing, close to the inner abyss. A poetic search. A dance on the tightrope. The whole thing can be quite intense live.
In addition to the powerful, distorted sound that the three have, a certain rage, there are very quiet, vulnerable and longing moods.
Longing to arrive in the world, being lost, doubting the reality of one's own life, overcoming the abyss and always escaping, sometimes very adventurous escapes, as in the song PEARLS:
“- And you take me - take me to the risk of your dawn - and you tell me lies, I wish I'd be part of - and we'll snitch a plane - that we never hope to land - and I hope up there - nothing cause us to understand“
