Celebrate Black excellence and legacy at this powerful and uplifting event designed to honor the history, pride, and achievements of our Black student graduates.

Graduating Student Celebrations are distinct from the college’s Commencement Ceremony, where your degrees are conferred.

This event is brought to you by Student Equity Center, the Division of Equity, Pathways, & Inclusion, Black Collegians, the Pan African Alliance, and Racial Justice Center.

This celebration is open to all 2025 SMC graduating, transfer, and certificate completing students.

Although the event celebrates Black students, participation is not limited by area of study, ethnic background, national origin, sex or gender identity. SMC aims to create an inclusive space that celebrates our intersectional identities while cultivating a sense of unity.
