KURBASY

Kurbasy wowed us back in 2018 with their immersive performances and unforgettable workshops—and now they return with their powerful blend of indigenous Ukrainian polyphony, experimental instrumentation, and theatrical artistry.

Rooted in the avant-garde Les Kurbas Theatre of Lviv, Kurbasy brings ancient folk traditions to life with a contemporary, ambient edge—featuring vocals, dulcimer, winds, percussion, violin, double bass, and even Tibetan singing bowls.

This tour is part of Center Stage, a public diplomacy initiative of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by the New England Foundation for the Arts, in cooperation with U.S. Regional Arts Organizations.
