Idiotarod Santa Fe

Join the fine fools at Ship of Fools Pedal Club and BTI for the first annual "Idiotarod" in Santa Fe. This unique event is a zany, unsanctioned bike event where teams of participants will pilot their human-powered wheeled contraptions through a fun and challenging city-wide obstacle course. This is not a race. It’s also not, not a race.

• The course is secret and will be revealed as you go.
• Teams should consist of 5 riders - no more, no less.
• We will cap participation at 10 teams of 5.....50 total riders.
• Your ideal team should be made up of these 5 personality types to ensure compatibility with the obstacles presented: the Genius, the Extrovert, the Goth, the Ninja and the OX.
• Costumes are highly encouraged. Ideally teams will have a unified look.
• The shadow organizers value presentation over speed.
• Prizes will be awarded.

This event is FREE but you should bring money for eats, beverages and, uh, random community stuff that may require dinero.

🎤 The Extrovert
Bold, loud, and impossible to ignore. The life of the party and the voice of the group—if there’s a challenge that needs confidence or charisma, they’re front and center.

🖤 The Goth
A connoisseur of the shadows, they embrace the eerie and unconventional. Pessimistic? Maybe. Realistic? Definitely. Also strangely comfortable with body mods and graveyards.

🥷 The Ninja
Quick, quiet, and deadly precise. With stealth and agility on their side, they slip past obstacles and react in a flash. Blink and you’ll miss them.

🐂 The Ox
Steady, unwavering, and strong, like BULL! The muscle of the group—when something needs moving, lifting, or smashing, they’re already on it. Just don’t get in their way.
