About Whitney Canyon

Difficulty Scate: Easy to Moderate

Explore this 3.0-mile out-and-back trail near Newhall, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking and horseback riding, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. This is a wide track trail through a canyon that was known for oil drilling and ranching. It becomes a single-track trail after about a mile and crosses a seasonal stream several times further up the canyon. This hike can be extended by simply going deeper up the trail. Proceed at your own risk once you leave the wide track.

YOGA

A quick 30 min Yoga session will be held on the way back from the hike and taught by

Val Sa-Ra.

HOW TO PREPARE

BRING A YOGA MAT (note your mat will be on the ground bring something to place on the ground if you do not want your mat to get dirty).

• Wear long pants (There may be some overgrown areas).

• Wear hiking shoes/boots or sneakers with good grip are recommended.

• Bring a hiking stick if you have it.

• Bring water and snacks if you are prone to get hungry.

• Lastly, always have an ID on you.
• Be prepare to hike with your mat and any other items you bring.

ALL ARE WELCOME regardless of race, color, creed, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation or abilities. We welcome all hiking levels, however, please note this is a moderate hike. If you are a slow pacer, please consider bringing a partner along so that you are not alone at any given time. We will take breaks along the way as needed and remember to stay hydrated! Please note we looked out for our fellow sisters if they needed assistance with getting up or down a hill. We would like to keep this tradition of looking out for each other.

DONATIONS AND REFUNDS.

Donations collected go to the cause of the event, with a small processing fee deducted from Eventbrite. You may donate whatever you feel comfortable. Refunds up to 7 days before event. Eventbrite's fee is nonrefundable.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days before the day of the event as this allows other people who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.

THINGS TO NOTE:

• The organizer will video-record each hiking event.
• There is very little to no phone service in the area.
• Please be patient, as it is easy to get turned around. However, we work as a team and always find our way.
