HW AVA/IVV - 5/10KM Walks - Sanford

Join us for a 1-hour (AVA-sanctioned 5KM (3.1 miles) or or 2-hour walk 10KM (6.2 miles) group walk in historic downtown Sanford, FL.

START POINT is a tailgate registration in the parking lot across from the Historic Sanford Welcome Center - look for the Yellow Walk Start sign & large green club banner with Happy Wanderers logo.

You may walk with the group or at your own pace - please ask for map/directions at registration, which starts 30 minutes prior.
The cost is $4.00 for participants 12yrs old or older. Children to be accompanied by an adult. Volksmarchers will receive AVA credit for this event.

We recommend sunscreen and carrying your own water.

The walk is rated 1A (flat & easy), it is on sidewalks through the Historic District including residential streets, parks and the downtown shopping / main street area. This walk is suitable for wheelchairs/strollers. Pets are allowed but must be leashed.

Directions From I-4 take Exit 101C and drive approximately 4 miles eastbound on SR46 (1st Street) to the Sanford Historic District. After crossing French Ave. (Route 17-92), continue to the second traffic light at Palmetto Ave. and turn left. Parking is available in the lot on the right.
