FULL WALK
WHEN: Saturday 13th September 10am
LEADER: Lucy. The leader is wearing yellow fluoro vest.
We are walking the full track. This takes about 90mins. It is shaded and we will have a few stops on the way.
PARKING: At the Avondale Adventist Cemetery. Turn at the sign which is about 200m on the right after you turn from Central Road into Cedar Lane. Follow the road to the carpark at the end.
MEETING PLACE : At the carpark near the bench seat. You will see a sign for the Avondale track. Please ensure you are here before the start, as we leave on time.
DIFFICULTY: Hard. A lot of this is bush track with uneven surfacing.
DISTANCE: 5km
PACE: Average
ACCESSIBILITY: Not suitable for people with mobility issues. Not suitable for bikes, scooters, prams or mobility aids.
WALK INFORMATION: We start our Avondale Track walk, along the Boys Loop and then turn onto the Sandy Creek loop which are the blue and yellow path on the map at the beginning of the walk.
The walk follows along the banks of both Dora Creek and Jigadee Creek. You will walk past the old Sanitarium Factory and Historical Swing Bridge. The paddocks we walk past are likely to contain cows, goats or horses. There are plenty of seats along the way and lots of photo opportunities. We'll take a couple of breaks. We won't be walking over the swing bridge, just past it. The track is wide and opens in many areas onto fields and parklands.
The walk will be about 90mins but there are lots of new things to see and we won't walk too fast.
FACILITIES: No toilets. Plenty of bench seats. No bins. 1 tap.
SHORT WALK

We will do shorter version. We walk through the bush to the Sanitarium factory & return via the cement path to the carpark.

All dogs are welcome, but must be on leash - please no retractables.
Treats are fine for your own dog, but we ask that you do not treat other dogs, due to medical and aggression issues with some dogs.
