Nigerian guitar master and singer Adesoji "Soji" Odukogbe has the distinction of being lead guitarist for Fela Anikulapo Kuti's Egypt 80 band during the 1980's. Soji draws on an extensive background in authentic Afrobeat, Highlife, and spiritual music, bringing a unique sensibility to his West African guitar interpretations. Since settling down in the SF Bay Area 30+ years ago, Soji has been active in the African music scene, most notably as a member of the Nigerian Brothers, the West African Highlife Band, and Kotoja. Beyond his work with Fela, he has recorded and played with Femi Kuti, Babatunde Olatunji and Orlando Julius Ekemode, among others.
“Soji Sai” is Soji's latest project and his first time stepping out as the frontman for his own band. The band ranges from a tight 5-piece rooted in the sweet sounds of Highlife and Palm Wine music, to a ferocious 10-piece plus band playing pure Afrobeat a la Fela Kuti - including a smoking horn section, intricate vocal harmonies, and a dance-inducing rhythm section. Whatever the configuration, Soji and the band set dance floors on fire with a churning, polyrhythmic style that Soji simply calls “authentic original Afrobeat like Fela’s type of music, the traditional Afrobeat that nobody does” in a world of endless Afro-fusions. Soji is a rare gem of an artist, with a spirit as joyous and infectious as the music he creates.

Eric Wiley Coyotes band features funk and Reggae Originals and covers with solos by all band members reminiscent of the classic bands of many decades. The music is a mix of cover tunes and originals with strong influence from the New Orleans style of music that focuses on Reggae and funk with solos done in the jazz tradition.
You get the infectious tempo of reggae with the musical elements of rhythm and blues. Add the solo styling with the jazz influences.
The band plays covers of Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, The Police, Bobby Caldwell just to name a few. The originals are influenced by these styles of music.
