A Dominican New York transplant, Ricky G came up the ranks playing guitar in San Diego, eventually landing with legendary saxophonist and hometown hero Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe (The Rolling Stones/Greyboy Allstars). Ricky is currently working on his debut album featuring some of the most revered funk and soul musicians in the world.
Ricky G has performed with legendary funk and rock artists through his career, including, George Porter Jr. (The Meters/Dr. John), Robert Randolph, Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk), Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones/Allman Brothers/George Harrison/Eric Clapton/John Mayer), Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones/Herbie Hancock), Daniel Ponder, Kenneth Crouch (Terrace Martin, DJ Quik, Brandy, Mark Anthony) and Lige Curry (Parliament Funkadelic) to name a few. He’s also worked closely with Grammy Award Winning Producer Kamau Kenyatta (Gregory Porter-Liquid Spirit/Take Me to the Alley).
