Discover how a strong, responsive axis can transform your dancing. In this intermediate-level series, we’ll begin with exercises drawn from Modern Dance and the Franklin Method to explore balance through visualization, alignment, and dynamic opposition—you’ll develop the ability to find ease and power on one leg, stay centered in motion, and clearly sense where your axis is at all times—so you can share it fluidly with a partner.

Together, we’ll apply these tools to walking, carousels, ochos, spins, and more. Leave each class with practical skills and a more embodied, nuanced understanding of balance in motion.

𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟭: Ochos and directional variations
𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟮: Carousels and how to access them anytime
𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟯: Spins - working up to single-leg
𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝟰: Review and putting it all together

Please do your best to arrive on time to class if you plan to attend. 𝐴𝑛𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 20 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑎𝑠𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑖𝑡 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑖𝑑 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑠

Tony (He/Him) has spent a decade in the fusion scene traveling across the country (mainly in California and now in Seattle) to hear, record, and DJ moments of musical magic (MoMM). He tends to play variety and sometimes hits themes, but in every set you can almost always expect moments for solidarity, familiarity, collaborative chaos (trolling), and throwdowns.

𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝒀𝒂𝒏𝒈
Steve loves to DJ. Steve loves to dance. Steve loves to DJ for dancers. Lyrical & expressive, rhythmic & dynamic, gooey sweet, down & dirty, and slow & melty, Steve can and will play a wide range of music designed to keep the creativity flowing, and keep everyone on the floor. Get ready for an amazing time!

Currently, she teaches Zouk at Omni Studios, Pilates and Franklin method privately and numerous forms of solo dance.
