Isa: DID YOU HEAR?! There's Halo-Halo Open Mic at Bindlestiff!
Dalawa: I've heard of open mic and I've heard of Bindlestiff, but what is "halo-halo"?
Isa: "Halo-halo" roughly translates to "mix-mix" or "mixing together" in Tagalog. Open mic is gonna be a mix of folks from all walks of life and a mix of performance art, music, comedy, and more. I hope someone reads an excerpt from one of one of those short plays in that Tongue in a Mood book... Halo-halo is also a delicious Filipino dessert with many renditions, which I heard there'll be some of that too, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Dalawa: Can I just come for the food? And to watch? I mean, I might change my mind once I'm there and get inspired... Who else is gonna be there?
Isa: Yeah, sure, come for the food, stay for the vibes. There's limited spots for early sign-ups but you can still get on the list on the day of. DarkHeart is also playing!
Dalawa: Oh, I'm for sure going. Okay, I'll get there early before the ice melts!
Isa: Oh, that ice is going to melt, bet.
