Magic Academy: Deck Building

Conquered the basics at our Learn to Play event? Time to level up with your first limited format, San Diego!

Our MTG Sealed Deck Workshop is the perfect next step in your magical journey. You'll receive 6 booster packs to open and build a 40-card deck from scratch! Our staff will guide you through card evaluation, building a balanced mana base, and creating a focused strategy with what you open.

This workshop is perfectly timed - exactly one week before the Final Fantasy Magic set prerelease! It's the ideal practice run for the prerelease format, so you'll be prepared for the big event.

Never built a sealed deck before? No worries! Our staff includes veteran limited players who've been drafting since before North Park was hipster. They'll walk you through everything from mana curves to removal priorities in plain English.

We'll provide all basic lands for your deck during the event. After building, you'll play against other participants to test your creation!

Registration available online or in-store. Cost: $24.99 (includes 6 booster packs that are yours to keep).
