Albert Besteiro is best known as bassist and MC for the legendary Del Castillo band, founded by his fellow Brownsville natives, Rick and Mark Del Castillo. But he’s long enjoyed cult status as a guitar slinger and mesmerizing showman.
Albert formed the Texas Love Cartel in concert with songwriter Brett Allen Reeves (Dash Kizer, the B.A.R. Band), bassman Mario Gonzalez (Mundi, Loose Change), and newcomer Charlie Siliven on drums.
The TLC sound connects Austin, Brownsville, and the Gulf Coast. Call it Americana leaning to soul, rock, and country blues. It’s music for dancing and singing along. It is all about the Love.
The TLC debut album is called Shine, coming in March 2025.
