TANVEER ARORA is a boundary-pushing comedian, storyteller, and proud Sikh man originally from Mumbai, India, now making waves in Texas — where his love for denim durags knows no bounds. Recently separated and out of the closet, Tanveer’s comedy is a fearless exploration of his journey as a pansexual, polyamorous, and modern-day Indian navigating the complexities of identity, culture, and personal freedom. Having grown up in a conservative background, Tanveer tackles the challenges of reconciling his sexuality with his heritage, all while confronting the hate and judgment he’s faced from his own community. Through humor, he aims to break down stereotypes, challenge societal norms, and create space for others to embrace their true selves. His comedy isn’t just about laughs; it’s about sparking change and fostering a more inclusive world.
Tanveer also brings a unique perspective to the stage by sharing his culture, religion, and Indianness with pride. His dynamic performances — in multiple languages — have taken him across the U.S. and internationally to places like India and Japan. A viral video on racism, which garnered over 3 million views on Instagram and TikTok, cemented his place as a voice for change and understanding. He has been featured in numerous comedy festivals including Desi Comedy Festival, Big Little Comedy Festival, and has performed in a variety of shows all over the USA and also internationally including India and Japan. His ability to share his culture, religion and Indianness through his comedy certainly wins the audiences. He has had the pleasure of working with comics like Dusty Slay, Jeremiah Watkins, Bobby Lee, Mark Normand, Shane Gillis, and many more.
THE TOADSTOOLS are a Soft Punk Rock band born and raised in San Antonio. Formed in 2022, they have played a multitude of gigs across San Antonio, San Marcus, and Austin. This gig is very special because it is one of the last shows the band will perform before moving on to college. The DNL players are a group of San Antonio-based improvisers, including the team MY 4 DADS (four improvisers who – much like your own father – can take any suggestion and make it much, much worse), BACHELORS OF SCIENCE (DNL’s own WEEKEND SCIENCE UPDATE anchors improvising the stories behind real science headlines they’ve never seen before), and LINDSEY NAVE (hosting the delightful, saccharinely absurd - and Girl Scout approved - interview segment, THE COOKIE JAR WITH JILLIE).
