Drop off hard-to-recycle items at this collection event.
This is a joint event between the City of Sammamish and the City of Issaquah, hosted by Eastside Catholic School. Partners include Eastside Catholic School, WA State Department of Ecology, King County Solid Waste Division, King County Hazardous Waste Management Program, and the E-Cycle Washington Program.
Items to be Collected:
Confidential Document Shredding
-Shredding and recycling of confidential paper materials
-Limit of 4 file-size boxes or 5 bags per vehicle
-Visit atg.wa.gov/community-shred-events for more paper shredding options
Styrofoam Blocks and Packing Peanuts
-White Styrofoam blocks. Expanded polystyrene only. Look for the #6 or EPS inside the recycling symbol.
Packing peanuts (any color).
-Please keep packing peanuts in a box or a bag.
-All materials must be clean and dry
-No urethane foam cushions, hot tub covers, expanded polypropylene or foam insulation.
Mattresses and Box Springs ($35 for each, cash only)
-Mattresses and box springs of any size and in good condition
-No furniture or frames
-No wet or soiled items
-Vendor reserves the right to refuse any item it cannot recycle
Propane Tanks ($10 for each, cash only)
-Residential five-gallon tanks only
Porcelain Toilets and Sinks ($25 for each, cash only)
-Toilet sets, hardware, and base wax rings must be removed before they will be accepted.
Refrigerators and Freezers ($35 for each, cash only)
Air Conditioners ($35 for each, cash only)
Bulky Wood
-Tree branches (minimum 6 inches in diameter), logs, clean wood, plywood, pallets, and other untreated and unpainted wood.
-No leaves, grass, branches, sod, brush, or painted or stained wood.
*Cardboard will be not accepted. Please recycle cardboard in your curbside bin*
Rain Barrel, Compost, and Worm Bin Sale ($30 for each, cash only)
-Rain Barrels: Green or beige area available for purchase. Rain barrels capture water from a roof and hold it for later use such as on lawns, gardens, or indoor plants. This conserves water, saves money, and reduces water runoff.
-Compost Bins: Backyard compost bins allow you to easily turn food and yard waste into nutrient-rich soil or mulch that can be used in home gardens or lawns.
-Worm Bins: Also referred to as vermicomposting, worm bins are another way to turn household food waste into compost. These bins are simple to assemble and can be stored in or outside. Items made from recycled plastic.
All items for sale at $30 and can only be purchased with cash.
