AIF2025 - A warm festival welcome!

The welcome concert of AIF2025 offers another eclectic evening of music and good cheer. Festival Director Richard Morrison returns to the stage to take us on a musical journey in song, with a programme ranging from art song to classics from the Great American Songbook — with some opera and popular ballads thrown in for good measure. He’ll be joined once again by special festival guests and some of Arran’s finest young musicians.

Richard is widely respected for his warm, lyrical voice and versatility as a performer. His career spans opera, concert, and broadcasting, with highlights including leading roles at Oper Leipzig, Staatsoper Hannover, and Staatstheater Nürnberg, as well as concert appearances at the Berliner Philharmonie, Royal Albert Hall, and the Wigmore Hall. His recordings appear on Deutsche Grammophon, Naxos, and Warner Classics, and he has featured on BBC TV & Radio and Classic FM, both as a singer and presenter.
