Once a year, during the sacred Vedic/Yogic fortnight of the ancestors (Pitru Paksha)—we are given a rare opening to honour those who came before us, heal our lineages, and receive the blessings of our ancestors. This powerful 16-day lunar window between full moon and new moon is considered one of the most potent and auspicious occasions to make offerings, prayers, and gestures of reverence to our ancestors.
In the rush of modern life, we rarely make time to tend to our roots. But this is the kind of tending that can support meaningful and transformative shifts in ourselves, our families, and our lineages – including the repatterining of long-standing trauma. This ancestral water healing ritual allows us to lay down what we’ve carried, honour what came before, and receive the guidance that helps us walk forward with more clarity, courage and grace.
Together, we will chant ancestral mantras, make elemental offerings, and create both a personal ancestral altar and a collective community mandala—an embodied prayer of remembrance and gratitude. The water healing ritual at the heart of this evening will support the release of ancestral blockages and the flow of blessings through our lines.
WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE:
--> A safe and sacred space to call in and honour your lineage
--> Both personal and collective altar-building
--> Guided water healing ritual for release and renewal
--> Mantras, offerings, and connection to ancestral wisdom
--> A deeper connection to your roots, inner wisdom, and spiritual support
All are welcome—no previous experience with ancestral ritual is needed.
*Important pre-ritual instructions will be sent to you about 24hrs before we gather to help prepare for our sacred space.

YOUR FACILITATOR
Satya Amrita Kumari Jehman (Vedic Priestess Temple)
Born into the Vedic lineage, Satya has been living the traditional path of yoga all her life – with a more concentrated practice over the last 23 years. She carries the gift of ceremony and ritual by the grace of her ancestors, and has been facilitating ritual more formally for the past decade. Satya has completed a year-long Yoga Apprenticeship in 2015 (Vijnana Yoga RYT 200), and a deep dive study into jnana yoga (Vedic scripture study/self inquiry) with her teacher in India amid a trio of winters from 2011-2013. While there in 2016, Satya was initiated into the Sidh Kunjika Stotram – the highest call to Maha Shakti (Divine Mother). She has been furthering her yogic studies and practice in India with regular trips there for the past 16 years.
Satya leads ceremony and ritual for healing, renewal, union, rites of passage, and other occasions as requested. These are conducted both with groups and in private sessions.
Encouraged by her teachers, Satya is a facilitator of Retreats, Workshops, Ceremony, Ritual & One-on-One Guide on Salt Spring Island and surrounding communities, in India – as well as online.
