Forest Bathing

Get outside and take notice of what is happening in the natural world. Forest bathing offers the magical beauty and healing power Red Butte Garden has to offer. Enjoy a dose of sunlight and the beauty of the changing seasons.

Forest Bathing originated in Japan where it is called Shinrin-Yoku. This practice has been scientifically proven to boost immunity and mental strength as well as offering us the opportunity to deepen our relationship with the natural world.

Red Butte Garden’s Forest Bathing experience increases the well-being of participants through guided immersive experiences in the Garden which may shift one’s perspective and renew the spirit. We will explore slowly–using one sense at a time–the ways one can ground to nature and capture the beauty of the moment. Through a guided experience and careful observation, we may begin to notice parts of the environment that have been missed during the pace of our daily lives.

This guided walk can be done by all ages and abilities. Also, connect with other class participants as you are guided to create balance with your environment.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR EACH COURSE

Classes are held outdoors, rain, snow, or shine. During the colder months it is recommended bundle up and dress for the weather. A water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended.
